Good Deeds Day

Single-use plastics, or disposable plastics, are used only once before they are thrown away or recycled. These items are things like plastic bags, straws, coffee stirrers, soda and water bottles and most food packaging. We produce roughly 300 million tons of plastic each year and half of it is disposable! World-wide only 10-13% of plastic items are recycled. The nature of petroleum based disposable plastic makes it difficult to recycle and they have to add new virgin materials and chemicals to it to do so. Additionally, there are a limited number of items that recycled plastic can be used. Globally, 5 trillion single-use plastic bags are used worldwide every day. Half of all plastic prod used is developed to be used only once. Only 9 percent of all plastic ever produced has been recycled, 12 percent incinerated, and 79 percent has accumulated in landfills, dumps, or the natural environment.

In 2017 and 2018 we had one day session of Good Deeds and in 2020 we celebrated whole month for GDD in partnership with Flare of MASHAL focusing environment crisis promoting environment friendly practices.

During the project we had univeristy Ambassador, the Ambassador Takeaway was:
